Tulsa, Oklahoma, boasts a curiously impressive (although small) selection of luxurious accommodations that blend historic charm with modern amenities. While the city itself isn’t a hotbed for 5-star, ultra-luxury properties, there still exists a small fold of beautiful luxury hotels in Tulsa.
The early origins of luxury hotels in Tulsa
Tulsa’s business boom during the early 20th century played a pivotal role in shaping the city’s architectural landscape, particularly in terms of its hotel industry. The discovery of oil in the region in the 1900s led to an influx of wealth, transforming Tulsa from a small town into a thriving commercial hub. As a result, the city’s population grew rapidly, and businesses, particularly those in the oil and banking sectors, flourished. This economic prosperity created a demand for high-quality accommodations to host visiting businessmen, investors, and government officials. Consequently, Tulsa saw the rise of opulent hotels designed to reflect the city’s newfound wealth and status as the “Oil Capital of the World.”
Many of the city’s landmark hotels were built during this period, reflecting the grandeur of the time. The Mayo Hotel, for instance, was completed in 1925 and quickly became one of the city’s most luxurious establishments. Its opening symbolized the prosperity of the oil boom and attracted elite clientele from across the country. Similarly, the Tulsa Club Hotel, originally opened in 1927, became a gathering place for the city’s business leaders, further cementing Tulsa’s role as a financial powerhouse. These hotels were designed in grandiose styles like Art Deco and Mediterranean Revival, blending both modern amenities and intricate design elements that reflected the affluence of the era.
Artifacts From Days Gone By: Tulsa’s Nicest Hotels
The lasting legacy of Tulsa’s early business success is still evident today in these historic hotels, many of which have been meticulously preserved and restored. These buildings not only stand as testaments to the city’s economic past but also continue to serve as luxurious accommodations for those visiting Tulsa for business or leisure. Hotels like The Mayo and the Ambassador Hotel, now part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, offer a glimpse into the opulence of Tulsa’s early boom days. They serve as a reminder of the city’s pivotal role in shaping the oil industry and its lasting impact on the hospitality sector.
Five Star Hotels in Tulsa?
Let’s not get too far through this guide before we address the elephant in the room: there are some truly lavish hotels in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but I think you’ll find yourself hard-pressed to find a true ‘5-Star’ hotel.
Why is that? Because as far as we can tell, 5-star hotels don’t technically exist in Tulsa. The more digging that I do, the more difficult I’ve found it to pin down any truly authoritative source that dictates what a 5-star property is… at least without having a financial or ownership interest in the property in question, itself.
A Tour of The Best Hotels in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Let’s begin our digital tour of Tulsa’s most lavish and luxurious hotels:
Location: 115 East 5th Street, Tulsa, OK
Overview: Situated in the heart of Tulsa’s Art Deco District, the Tulsa Club Hotel is housed in a meticulously restored 1927 high-rise building in the center of downtown Tulsa.
The renovation — an ambitious project between Ross Group and Promise Hotels, if my memory serves me correctly — preserved its historic grandeur while introducing contemporary comforts. When Promise Hotels extended an offer to let us stop by this property while it was being renovated, it took a bit of a stretch of an imagination to see the potential in a high-rise derelict building, whose best days were nearly a century behind it.
But neither Ross Group nor Promise Hotels have built their respective reputations on fairled, overly-ambitious projects… the Tulsa Club Hotel is arguably every bit as beautiful as it had been in the 20th century. When I say that this property is easily a “top three” candidate for the nicest hotels in Tulsa, I mean it.
In my experience, rooms can almost always be reserved between $200 and $250.
Nearby Activities:
- Art Deco Architecture Tour: Explore the district’s iconic art deco buildings, including the Philtower, and experience — in person — the reason that Tulsa is known as the U.S. Art Deco capitol.
- Cultural Events at Guthrie Green: Attend outdoor concerts and community gatherings in this vibrant park.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Chamber: Located within the hotel, this OpenTable Diners’ Choice 2024 winner offers an upscale culinary experience. You’ll want to make reservations in advance.
- The Vault: A short walk away, this restaurant serves contemporary American cuisine in a historic, mid-century bank setting. It sounds kind of crazy on paper, but you can’t visit downtown Tulsa and not check this place out.
Additional Amenities:
- Sky Terrace: Enjoy panoramic city views from the rooftop lounge.
- Event Spaces: Versatile venues suitable for weddings and corporate gatherings.
- Commerce: Grab a lovely, hand-crafted cocktail during Happy Hour at the Tulsa Club Hotel and take in the sights and sounds.
One final note: There is no kind of justice I’m going to be able to do for how beautiful this property is without giving you all a chance to take a look at the photos on the Tulsa Club Hotel’s website, so please enjoy.
2. Ambassador Hotel Tulsa, Autograph Collection
Location: 1324 South Main, Tulsa, OK
Overview: This boutique hotel occupies a historic Mediterranean-style building from the late 1920s, blending timeless elegance with modern luxury. Originally intended to be a temporary “luxury” option for wealthy Tulsa businesspeople while waiting on the completion of the construction of their mansions, this property’s element of “luxury” — itself — has never gone away.
Nearby Activities:
- Philbrook Museum of Art: Discover diverse art collections in a historic villa and its expansive gardens.
- Gathering Place: If a better place exists, in Tulsa, to offer a person the opportunity to relax in the middle of a world-class park, I know absolutely nothing about it. This expansive riverside park — featuring playgrounds, gardens, and recreational facilities — is widely known across the globe to be one of the most impressive parks ever built, rivaled only by sites like Central Park in New York City.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Chalkboard: Located within the Abassador Hotel, itself, Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar has offered Tulsa diners exquisite experiences since 1976. Trust me when I say, “Try the Beef Wellington”
- The Bramble: A nearby spot known for craft cocktails and a curated brunch menu. This is a “show up a little early” kind of place, so consider yourself warned.
Additional Amenities:
- Fitness Center: Private, state-of-the-art facilities for health-conscious guests. The machines are in fantastic condition.
- Complimentary Shuttle Service: Easy access to downtown attractions. Well worth using, if you’re staying at the Ambassador.
The Ambassador is one of the most well-known luxury hotels in the downtown Tulsa area… and really, Oklahoma, in general. As expected, you certainly aren’t going to sneak by with a reservation for less than $100 per night. As a matter of fact, I’ve found that you can reliably expect to pay north of $300 per night for a hotel room at the lovely Ambassador.
That said, I absolutely love this property. Why? Take a glance at the ‘photos’ page on their website and you’ll quickly find out.
Location: 115 West 5th Street, Tulsa, OK
Overview: An iconic landmark since 1925 and quite possibly the most iconic hotel in downtown Tulsa, The Mayo Hotel combines historic charm with modern luxury, offering spacious rooms and elegant suites.
One look at the hotel lobby of this beautiful property will tell you everything you need to know about it: “I’m high-end.” With a rich history of famous guests, the Mayo is easily the most famous hotel in Tulsa. Most recently, Tulsa King fanatics have seen the hotel play residence to Sylvester Stallone’s character, Dwight “The General” Manfredi.
The rooftop bar is incomparable, too. When the weather is nice, there are few sights as beautiful as the views taken in looking south down the Arkansas River. If you’re a photographer of amateur or professional status, either, you’ll want to bring your camera to the rooftop bar. The vistas are a photographer’s dream.
Nearby Activities:
- Arvest Convention Center: Tulsa’s primary home for business conventions and hobby-type events, alike, this expansive venue’s visitors will find themselves offered the convenience of close proximity to Tulsa’s historic Mayo Hotel. Tulsans may remember it as the Cox Business Convention Center, but the property’s naming rights changed hands in 2025.
- The Tulsa Theater: Catch live performances in this historic music hall. Not quite a “go for a walk” type of trip, but at a near-spot-on half-mile, count the Mayo Hotel as being within striking distance of yet another unforgettable historic venue — known to many, originally, as the Brady Theater.
Nearby Restaurants:
- The Vault: With a smidge over a quarter-mile trip on foot, you can visit one of Tulsa’s most famous restuarnts, known as much for its extravant, mid-century design as it is for its iconic dining options. A chic spot offering a truly diverse menu and lovely craft cocktails.
- Kai Vietnamese Cuisine: What can I say about this place? It is amazing. If you like Vietnamese food — or better yet, if you’ve never had Vietnamese food and you’re curious to try it — this is the place to bring that dream to reality. You won’t regret it.
Additional Amenities:
- The Crystal Ballroom: A grand venue for weddings and events, featuring ornate design and a spacious layout. In this writer’s opinion, The Crystal Ballroom is one of the most beautiful, memorable rooms in the city.
- Rooftop Lounge: Enjoy panoramic city views and crafted cocktails in an upscale setting.
Location: 1840 South Boulder Avenue, Tulsa, OK
Overview: A wellness-focused boutique hotel nestled in the Riverview Neighborhood, The BRUT HOTEL combines “1953 brutalist architecture with tropical serenity“, to quote Visit Tulsa. Long-time residents of the “Uptown” area of Tulsa may remember — not too many years ago — the state of utter disrepair that this building was in… let me tell you: “Things have changed.”
This property is unique, beautiful, and comfortable in all the right ways.
Nearby Activities:
- Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area: Explore over 12 miles of hiking and biking trails with scenic views.
- Tulsa Botanic Garden: Just eight miles northwest of Downtown Tulsa, this is a fantastic place to experience themed gardens and seasonal events in a tranquil setting.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Dalesandro’s: “A bustling bistro plating traditional Italian cuisine such as carpaccio, linguine & stuffed shells”. Dalesandro’s is a true “must”, if you’re staying nearby.
- FarmBar: Yet another great restaurant to try in the general “18th and Boston” area (a hair over a quarter mile east of The BRUT), its unassuming name is more casual sounding than its menu reads (and tastes). With the Living Kitchen (Depew, OK) on the 400-acre Oakley family farm as the genesis of this gorgeous (in addition to il seme and soon [according to rumors] — Cow & Cabbage), unique establishment, you can bet your last dollar that you’ll walk away from this dining experience with one word in mind: “impressed”.
Additional Amenities:
- Tropical Courtyard: A serene outdoor space featuring lush greenery and seating areas. I love the ‘tropical’ design ethic that you’ll see at this property so much.
- 1820 Spa: Facilities offering yoga classes, meditation sessions, and spa treatments. My recommendation: spring for the 60 minute massage session — pleasantly-priced at $115.
Location: 21 1/2 East Archer Street, Tulsa, OK
Overview: Located in the Tulsa Arts District, this boutique hotel offers 12 uniquely designed studio apartments, perfect for both short and extended stays. If you’re heading to Downtown Tulsa for entertainment purposes, this is one of the high-end lodging options that you’ll want to consider.
More similar to AirBnB than a hotel (reservations, payments, etc. are transacted digitally), this property is one of the coolest places to stay, in my opinion.
Nearby Activities:
- Main Street Downtown Tulsa: Delve into the nightlife in one of Downtown Tulsa’s most remarkable entertainment districts, always buzzing with activity in the evenings. You will not run out of things to do here.
- Cain’s Ballroom: If you’re coming to Tuls to catch a concert at (arguably) one of the most famous concert venues in the world — Cain’s Ballroom — you’re looking at a (roughly) five-minute walk from your door to the ticket counter at Cain’s.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Sisserou’s: If you’ve spent much time on JustTulsa.com, you know that I absolutely love Sisserou’s. Something about the jerk sauce that they use in their recipes just does everything for my taste buds.
- PRYHME Downtown Steakhouse: Known for its upscale vibe and its savory menu, PRHYME is just a few steps away from 21 1/2, should you find yourself spending an evening there.
Additional Amenities:
- Fully Equipped Kitchens: Each studio features a kitchen, providing guests with the option to dine in. The decor for this property is adorable.
- Skyline Views: It’s hard to top the views of the Downtown Tulsa skyline from the north angle.
6. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa
Location: 777 West Cherokee Street, Catoosa, OK
Overview: Technically located just outside of Tulsa (I mean, yes, it’s technically Catoosa) , this resort offers a vibrant gaming experience alongside truly world-class luxurious accommodations.
The Hard Rock Hotel combines opulence with entertainment, featuring spacious rooms, a large casino, and a plethora of dining and entertainment options.
There are a few places (bars and venues, both) to catch a concert… I’ve seen some big, national touring acts play here and I’ve seen cover bands — all in the same evening.
Nearby Activities:
- Golf. That’s all.: If you’re into golf, just know that this is one of the funnest courses that I play.
- Sequoyah State Park: A beautiful location to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, boating, and camping in a natural and serene setting. This is going to take you a little further away from Tulsa, so if you’re looking for something a little closer to your hotel room, look no further than the recommendations for any of the other properties’ (in this article) ‘Nearby Activities’.
Nearby Restaurants:
- The Buffet: Known for its extensive selection of dishes from around the world, offering an all-you-can-eat dining experience. Yeah — maybe this should’ve been listed after McGill’s, but the size of this buffet is pretty much just genuinely impressive. Either way, you’ll want to make sure you get an up-close look at both of these dining options.
- Carvers on 19: A true fine dining restaurant offering steaks, seafood, and an impressive wine list, with panoramic views from the upper-most parts of the hotel. This place is such a treat. I try to go here once or twice a year, whether we have a reason or not.
Additional Amenities:
- Full-Service Spa: Indulge in rejuvenating spa treatments, massages, and relaxation therapies.
- Concert Venues: As mentioned, if you enjoy live music and performances, you’ll want to make plans to visit the hotel’s concert venues, featuring both local talent and international artists, at Track 5., Amp Bar, Riffedm or Hard Rock Live — the property’s primary concert spot.
7. The DoubleTree by Hilton Tulsa – Warren Place
Location: 6110 S Yale Ave, Tulsa, OK
Overview: This elegant hotel offers a peaceful retreat within a quiet, suburban area of Tulsa. The DoubleTree combines modern amenities with a commitment to hospitality, making it an ideal choice for business and leisure travelers alike.
I’m not sure what it is about this property, but as a mostly Hilton-loyal traveler, I will gladly put my stamp of approval on this hotel. It has a true high-end vibe to it, despite the fact that it’s been around as long as I can remember.
Nearby Activities:
- The University of Tulsa: A short drive from the hotel, explore the beautiful campus and its events, including sports games, cultural exhibits, and art shows.
- Riverside Trail: Take a stroll or bike ride along the scenic Riverside Trail, which runs along the Arkansas River.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Neighborhood JAM: Love, love, love this place. Such a fantastic menu. You can quite frequently find me here for brunch on a weekend morning. Heck, if you’re a real early riser, you can actually grab a bite to eat here as early as 6:30 am.
- Pub W: Okay, I really love this place, too. Every time I come here, they take such good care of me (and my party). And their food is classy and delicious, without being unreasonably priced, to be honest.
Additional Amenities:
- Indoor Pool and Hot Tub: Relax after a day of activities in the hotel’s spacious indoor pool area.
- Business Center: Equipped with everything necessary for business guests, including meeting rooms and high-speed internet access.
Location: 200 Civic Center, Tulsa, OK
Overview: Aloft Tulsa Downtown is a vibrant, modern hotel offering sleek and stylish accommodations. It has the appearance of a property that was designed to appeal to tech-savvy travelers while offering the comfort and luxury expected from a higher-end property.
The cool factor is indeed “high” with this one.
If you’re in town for reasons that include a trip to the Arvest Business Center or the BOK Center, this is a great, walking-friendly option.
Nearby Activities:
- Tulsa Arts District: A walkable area filled with art galleries, museums, and entertainment venues.
- BOK Center: A major sports and entertainment venue, regularly hosting concerts, events, and sporting events.
Nearby Restaurants:
- il seme: One of the best Italian restaurants in Tulsa, in my opinion. Keep in mind that this is a dine-in only establishment, but — that said — it’s locally-sourced menu items will quickly show you why this restaurant and its hard-working employees have been the nominees and/or winners of multiple awards over the years.
- Arena Pub & Grill: A quick, casual spot serving fun American menu items. The Arena Signature Burger is worth a shot, here — it’s my go-to every time!
Additional Amenities:
- Live Music and Social Events: The hotel often hosts live music in the lobby, perfect for socializing and enjoying local talent.
- Rooftop Lounge: A fantastic spot for cocktails with scenic views of downtown Tulsa.
9. The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Tulsa Downtown
Location: 111 N Main St, Tulsa, OK
Overview: Although I’m not a Marriott fanatic, myself, I want to put this one on here because it is a very comfortable, modern, and well-maintained property. The Marriott Group does have a very reliable reputation for high quality accomodations, where a person needn’t guess if they’ll be able to sleep over the caucophony of failing window unit air conditioners.
If you’re having trouble finding an open room in one of Tulsa’s other luxury properties, this place frequently has vacancies.
Nearby Activities:
- Tulsa Performing Arts Center: Catch a Off-Broadway show, musical, or ballet performance at this renowned venue.
- Guthrie Green and ONEOK Field: If you’re staying at the Fairfield Inn in Downtown Tulsa, you’re quite close to two of the more active event locations in Tulsa. And when I say ‘active’, I mean: you’ll need to check the event calendars for both of these places, because they have something different going on (almost) every night.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Mexicali Border Cafe: Oh, Mexicali. This is a restaurant that nearly every Tulsan knows about and/or has been to. During a time (let’s just say: not in this century), Mexicali was one of very few restaurants you could go to before a show at the Brady Theather (now “the Tulsa Theater”, as mentioned further above) or Cain’s Ballroom. Always a fun experience.
- The Tavern: Eloquently described in a Google review as “Laid-back taproom dishing refined New American cuisine plus creative cocktails & craft beers”, the description is — well — hard to argue against. If you want a dining experience with a higher-end feel, this is a fantastic option to consider.
Additional Amenities:
- Business Center: Features workstations and meeting rooms for corporate travelers.
- Free Breakfast: Enjoy a complimentary breakfast to start your day off right.
Location: 100 E 2nd St, Tulsa, OK
Overview: Located (nearly) right at the base of the BOK Tower (one of tallest buildings in Oklahoma, by the way, and the tallest building in Tulsa), the Hyatt Regency offers a combination of luxury and convenience with spacious rooms and excellent amenities, catering to both business and leisure guests.
It also features excellent event facilities, making it a popular choice for corporate events.
This hotel is a credit to the upper echelon of finer hospitality in Tulsa, in my opinion. It has a true “luxury” feel to it, no matter where you go on the property. It is in easy walking distance of the BOK Center, the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, and the Blue Dome District. If you find yourself staying at the Hyatt Regency, don’t forget to grab a quick picture looking north on Boston Avenue… trust me, you’ll see why.
Nearby Activities:
- Boston Avenue : There are several reasons to take a stroll down Boston Avenue, but to name a few, you could find yourself with a chance to visiting one of Tulsa’s iconic art deco skyscrapers, like the Philcade, 321 S. Boston, or the world-famous Philtower; or you could find yourself enjoying one of Tulsa’s most beloved restaurants like Elote or Roppongi.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Elote: Okay — I’m kind of cheating, here, because I literally just mentioned both of these two restaurants in the paragraph above. But, for real: if you’re staying at the northern end of S Boston Ave., this place is worth the brief trek (on foot). Get the puffy tacos — trust me.
- Roppongi: “Bright, counter-serve outlet offering ramen, boba tea drinks & spring rolls, plus veggie options” pretty much sums it up. Their ramen is so, so, so good. Thank me later.
Additional Amenities:
- Indoor Pool and Fitness Center: Guests can enjoy a swim in the hotel’s indoor pool or stay fit in the on-site fitness center.
- Event Facilities: The Hyatt offers a range of event spaces, from intimate meetings to large conferences. If you’re coming to Tulsa for a convention, small trade show, or trade association meeting, you may already find yourself at this property, by chance.
11. Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center
Location: 6808 S 107th E Ave, Tulsa, OK
Overview: This stylish hotel offers a more contemporary flair, with modern amenities and ample space for large conferences and events. Located near Tulsa’s shopping and entertainment district, it’s an ideal place for both business travelers and vacationers.
Nearby Activities:
- Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium: Explore aviation history, space exploration, and interactive exhibits. You’re looking at a ten-minute trip north on highway 169 to visit this amazing museum. Definitely make sure that you check their operating hours before planning an impromptu visit.
- Tulsa’s Woodland Hills Mall: One of the largest shopping centers in Oklahoma, offering a range of high-end stores and entertainment options. I personally recommend a visit to SCHEELS — Tulsa’s spacious, no-nonsense sporting goods superstore that blends an extensive selection of athletic gear, outdoor equipment, and apparel with an engaging, hands-on shopping experience. If you’ve never been to one, a person can quite literally spend hours and hours in their well-designed “showroom” with its ample, well-organized space that allows customers to interact with products through demos and displays. In my experience, their knowledgeable staff delivers straightforward assistance without any fuss, which is honestly a welcomed departure from what many stores seem to get by with these days.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Taqueria La Cabana: This fantastic, no-frills Mexican restaurant could technically be classified as (largely) Tex-Mex, but you’ll find an impressive number of authentic Mexican dishes, here, too. I recommend trying the “Nopales en Puerco.”
- A Taste of Poland: For something even more exotic, be sure to swing by this place. Having opened semi-recently, I don’t feel like A Taste of Poland is quite a household name, yet, but I am confident that once enough people try it, it will be. You’re going to love the pierogi.
Additional Amenities:
- Indoor Pool and Fitness Center: While the accomodations are generally top notch, I’ve always felt like their pool and fitness center at the Renaissance are some of the best offerings in their respective categories that you’ll find in Tulsa.
- The Cyprus Grille: The Renaissance Hotel’s onsite restaurant is equally top notch. The restaurant’s attire is casual, but the menu is certainly a step up in quality.
12. Residence Inn – Tulsa Downtown
Location: 202 W 5th St, Tulsa, OK
Overview: Nestled quiet next door to Tulsa’s historic Mayo Hotel, the Residence Inn offers Marriot-loyal customers a rather comfortable option within easy walking distance of both the BOK Center and the Arvest Convention Center. Reservations are generally available and accessible on any given night, but I’ve seen prices north of $300 for a night’s stay. That said, Residence Inn maintains one of the highest ratings on TripAdvisor.com, coming in at 4.5 stars (with 149 reviews). Marriott properties really know how to maek customers feel like they are valued and taken care of.
Nearby Activities:
- The Gathering Place: Mentioned earlier, if a more impressive place to relax exists in Tulsa, we don’t know about it. At $465 million, this 66+ acre park is considered the largest private gift ever made to a community park (to quote Wikipedia). You’ll definitely want to set aside a couple of hours to explore.
Nearby Restaurants:
- Steakfinger House: Let’s start with this: if you are a fan of steakfingers, this is a must-try. This unassuming little diner has a menu full of delectable and diverse offerings. Also — if you’ve never experienced the concept of “fried dill pickles”, this is the place to tick that one off the list.
- Take 2: Take 2 is an amazing concept — created and operated by Resonance — that supports Oklahoma women who have been impacted by the criminal justice system. To quote their website, “Resonance helps with job readiness, housing, transportation, addiction treament, and case management. Women can live and work at Take 2: A Resonance Cafe or transitional homes like Elwood or Kirtley House, gaining the skills and stability needed for self-sufficiency.” We’re more than happy to participate in their cause.
Additional Amenities:
- Fitness Center: This property has one of the larger fitness centers of all of the hotels in this article.
- Pet-Friendly Lodging: Feel free to bring your four-legged friends to this downtown property.
13. Hotel Indigo – Tulsa Downtown
Location: 121 S Elgin Ave, Tulsa, OK
Overview: If you’re the type of traveler that likes to be within close proximity of a serious entertainment district, the Hotel Indigo might be your smartest choice. Numerous dining/drinking options exist within mere minutes, but if you’re new to (or not from) the area, I would strongly recommend that you visit McNellie’s, at minimum.
Nearby Activities:
- Dust Bowl Lanes & Lounge: Owned by the same group that brought you McNellie’s, this old-school style bowling alley is an absolute blast. There aren’t a bunch of lanes, so give them a call before you organize big plans with a group.
- The Max Retropub: Easily one of Tulsa’s most well-known bars… and it isn’t for the drinks! The Max is packed to the gills with retro arcade games and is totally worth a visit if you’re staying at Hotel Indigo, as it’s mere feet from the property.
Nearby Restaurants:
- McNellie’s: Located on the north side of Hotel Indigo, McNellie’s is often known as one of the pubs that kicked off the Downtown Tulsa revival in the early 2000s. It certainly wasn’t the first bar or restaurant downtown, but you’ll find few Tulsans that will argue against the fact that McNellie’s helped put Downtown Tulsa back on the map.
- JINYA Ramen Bar: Just to the south of Hotel Indigo, you’ll find a lovely little restaurant called JINYA, known for slinging some of Tulsa’s best ramen. We love this place and have been visiting since it first opened.
Additional Amenities:
- On-Property Dining: This boutique hotel is home to Prospect Local Bar and Kitchen. Their menu is absolutely delectable; if you find yourself needeing to stay on-site, for some reason, you’re set, as far as food goes.
14. DoubleTree by Hilton – Tulsa Downtown
Location: 616 W 7th St, Tulsa, OK
Overview: I’ve probably stayed more nights downtown at this property than I have anywhere else. Come to think of it, it is quite possible that I’ve stayed more nights at the downtown DoubleTree than I have at any other hotel in Oklahoma. If you have business to tend to at the Arvest Convention Center or you just need a higher-end hotel room to cap off the night after a concert at the BOK Center, this property is a fantastic option. Keep in mind that overnight parking in their garage is $28/night — at least at the time of me writing this article.
Fun bit of trivia: I once spent all night hanging out with Katy Perry’s band and dancers at this hotel.
Nearby Activities:
- Cellar Dweller: One of the most unique bars in Tulsa, situated beneath an entire apartment building, mere minutes (on foot) from the front doors of the downtown DoubleTree. When you enter, you’ll understand the name of this establishment.
- River Parks Trail: A popular spot for running, cycling, and walking along the Arkansas River. You’re in close proximity to the northern limit of this “trail” (would you really consider this a trail, as much as it is a sidewalk with a really nice view of the river?), so if you get the urge to go for a long walk, this is an easy place to do it.
Additional Amenities:
- Complimentary Breakfast: One of my favorite things about DoubleTree hotels is their fantastic room service breakfast. I never stay here without ordering a room service breakfast when I wake up.
- Indoor Pool: This location’s indoor pool room gets uncomfortably hot if you aren’t actually swimming, but I have found that, historically, I’ve rarely had to share it with anyone but my own family.
Conclusion
Tulsa may not be able to boast a large number (or any number, really) of five-star hotels, but it certainly boasts a wealth of luxurious and high-end accommodations, each offering something unique to visitors. From modern boutique hotels and restored historic properties to grand resorts and upscale inns, the variety of hotels available ensures that every traveler can find a place that suits their style, whether they’re in town for business, leisure, or a special event.
No matter which hotel you choose, you’ll be close to a wealth of attractions, dining, and activities, making it easy to experience the best that Tulsa has to offer. Whether you’re exploring the city’s historic districts, enjoying local art, or attending a conference, these high-end hotels in Tulsa provide the perfect base for your stay.
